sup everyone

I'm going to go ahead and ask this with a total disregard of judgment and knowledge (if any) and at the same time, possibly
get owned for asking this. But heres a "wild" idea at 3AM in the morning. Letsay, I have a RWD USDM bluetop motor and a
JDM intake manifold. Would it be possible to delete the TVIS while running on the stock USDM ECU? And if so, how many
parts will be deleted in order to make it work?

kudos,
Jay

The basics of it are not basic at all, lol. You can disconnect vacuum lines and redo things to get an idea of what will happen, which I did. I forget exactly how to do it, but you eliminate all of your EGR stuff, and loop some of the lines around so that your valves are always open. You get better midrange and high rpm performance, but your lower end throttle response is diminished iirc. I was going to do it anyways, just to clean up the intake side of the engine bay, mine being a show car and all. But you'd need to have a spacer made in order to bolt the JDM intake manifold to the USDM motor, since you'd need to eliminate the TVIS valve plate. It's been done, just not really worth it imo, unless something isn't working correctly, and you don't want to go through the trouble to fix it.

ill chime in on this. if the car is street driven its not worth it on a blue top you will loose bottom end(like the others mention). if its a track car and will spend its life above the tvis activation point then it wont matter also if your going with any cam bigger then a 256 deg. duration you might also want to eliminate tvis.
