Still having a brake issue with my 86 ae86 corolla. It's an sr5. When I got it the brakes were messed up. The pedal goes right to the floor. I've since replaced the master cylinder and today I bled the brakes. Still has the same issue. Could it be something with the drums? I'm going to try bleeding the brakes again and see if that does anything. The wheel cylinders seemed fine (held fluid, bleeders were fine all around as well). I'll be swapping a gts rear once I get the cash, but for now this has to last me. Any ideas haha?

look underneath the car for any pin holes. is the fluid level going down at all if you use the brakes?

I didn't notice any leaks or fluid level drops but I will check again. And I'm going to look into changing the booster as well.

Sounds like a Booster Problem

I'll be looking into that. There are only so many things it can be. Just a pain in the ass.

I picked up a hanes manual and I'm going to try troubleshooting some more. Believe me, this is not my first car, though it is my first car with drums. I'm going to check over the lines and see if there are any leaks. And no abs is great, makes it much easier. As for the master cylinder leaking into the booster, I just swapped a brand new master cylinder and everything looked fine with no signs of the old master cylinder leaking.

if the pedal goes straight to the floor the booster is not your problem. a booster is there to assist you in braking(power brakes) when they go bad trust me you will know since it will be very hard to press the stop pedal. check all the rubber lines they are 3 total on your car since it has rear drums. 2 for the front and one above the pumpkin for the rear. also check all your metal lines. then take the drums off and peel of the rubber boots on the wheel cylinders and see if any fluid is leaking in there. if no fluid is leaking(you dont have to add any daily) then you might need to power bleed the car to get all the air out since the master cylinder sometimes can be a pain to bleed if it wasnt blead on a bench firts. good luck.
