even though iv only had my corolla for a few weeks, i know now that i need something a little newer for a daily commuter.
i was curious to see what you guys thought i could get out of my 82 corolla sr5. 194K, longtube header, exhaust, 4.10 rear gears, near brakes and lights, all working and accurate guages, 5 speed and factory two tone black and silver.
what do you guys think i might be able to get? |

| Hard to say without pictures and running video. Could be anything from $1k+ depending on the condition. |

That body isn't in the best condition... My gut is telling me that the car has been in an accident before, probably early in its life, though I can't say exactly where or for certain. For what it is, I'd say try putting the asking price at $1.5k-$1.7k. Low ballers like me would start price negotiations at $700, but you could probably get $1.2k-$1.3k in the end. Probably wouldn't sell for more than $600 on the West coast.
Just my opinion. I haven't been keeping up with the prices lately.
Edit: Just realized you're located in Texas. My estimate is if you were located in NJ. From what I know of Texas prices, they'll be lower than if you were in NJ. $800 maybe, though that's really just a shot in the dark. I don't know enough about Texas to give you a more accurate estimate. Sorry. |

| im just curious really. i know when i got it people were wanting to give the guy $1500. i was thinking about doing some paint work and getting it better looking than the OEM paint on there. prob going to list it for 2K for low ballers. prob take about $1500. i know it has 4.10 rear gears, springs, exhaust, long tube header, basicly new tires, working accurate guages, a bunch of new parts... do you think 1500 would be a good price to take? |

When you factor the cost of paint into your new price, you're really not making any more than what you would have made without painting it.
Ditto cmorgan. Start it at $2k and take the best offer. If someone offers you $1500+, I'd take it. |

i mean i hope u sell it but why did u get it in the first place? if u need a cheap ride and its not perfect like ur ac isnt working then fix that or fix the little stuff and save some gas, painting it and putting time and money into it wont get u a better return, think about it, guys spend 30,000 on full blown race cars and they sell them for like 10-13,000 _________________

well i got it for something different than a honda. i do like the car, but after really sitting down and prioritizing what i need right now, a older project car isnt one of them. if it was a little newer like a 85-87 corolla gts i wouldnt have a problem with it.. but since its basicly a cunt hair newer than a car from the 70's, i just need something newer and i will know will be more relyable than the 82.
and the paint was mainly me just getting some good rattle can (yes they make good looking rattle can), and just doing the car in the factory two tone color. it will cost me a lot less than to go to maaco, and even though it wont help the value of the car, it might help as a selling point... but who knows. |

well. i decided to do a little paint work on the car, replaced the clutch master, fuel filter and the water pump/alternator belt... along with the list of new parts that it already had. but my question now is do you think it would be worth around $1100?
here is a pictures of it now.
